A letter from Sandy Monterose, Director of The Jackson Galaxy Project

Dear Friends,

You may not have noticed in the clutter of emails that grace your inbox, but we have been quiet recently.
We were engaged in a thoughtful process that led us to make a change. A change that will benefit our mission, provide us with a greater voice, a better infrastructure, and help from a team of incredibly passionate and talented people.

On behalf of Jackson, the JGF Board and our team, I am happy to let you know that we have merged with, and have become The Jackson Galaxy Project, a signature program of

We are all really jazzed about this merger, and it is good economics; it will increase efficiencies and the pool of talent to draw from for us as well.

We will be expanding our signature program Cat Pawsitive to bring positive reinforcement training to more shelters and more people. We are already receiving applications for our spring class.

We will be helping cats who need medical care through the Barry Fund.

In addition, we are announcing a new project! Combining Jackson’s skills at designing comfortable indoor environments for pets with the Rescue Rebuild program’s talent for transforming and renovating shelters allows us to have a profound impact to help humans and animals. We are announcing our new Safe Haven program, where we will be retrofitting domestic violence shelters to allow victims of abuse to have their pets with them.

Jackson said:
” I started working with GreaterGood years ago because I admired their ability to help so many animals and people worldwide without compromise.  It’s an honor to officially partner with them to help save even more lives. Creating pet friendly domestic violence shelters is an auspicious beginning to what will be an amazing partnership. After all, the team at are not just colleagues, they are like-minds as well as friends that I trust to carry my vision into the future.”

My sincere thank you for your passion, interest and support over the past 2 years. We have done a lot of good work together, and we are ramping up to do much more. Please, stay with us for this new journey, we’ll need you by our side.

In gratitude and solidarity,
